First Gold has collaborated with Power of Love for several years, building a strong charitable partnership to help those suffering from kidney diseases and to prolong their lives. First Gold staff actively participated in the Flag Day, a fundraising event, held by POLCCF Dialysis Centre, in Wan Chai on 26 November 2016. The volunteers were met with strong support from the community passionately, helping more kidney disease patients receive affordable haemodialysis treatment.

There are over 9,000 terminal kidney disease patients in Hong Kong, and about 1,000 new patients require dialysis or kidney transplants to continue living each year. Haemodialysis is very expensive and requires at least HKD 150,000 per year, creating a massive economic burden for patients coming from lower-middle income families.  POLCCF Dialysis Centre is a non-profit haemodialysis centre which provides services at affordable and reasonable prices. The volunteers also benefit as they contribute to society and help patients recover both physiologically and psychologically.
